Grow Hemp in Idaho

1) Now is the perfect time to consider starting your hemp business?

Idaho has become the last state to legalize industrial hemp, more than two years after the 2018 Farm Bill legalized it as a commodity crop.

On April 16, Idaho Gov. Brad Little signed House Bill 126 into law, legalizing the production, processing, research and transportation of industrial hemp (≤0.3% THC) beginning with the spring 2022 season. See the enrolled legislation here.

2) What opportunities will be offered for Idaho hemp farmers?

Farmers can diversify operations or use hemp as a rotational crop. Legalization strengthens retailer–farmer partnerships and can improve product freshness and quality by shortening time-to-shelf.

3) Stakeholder meetings regarding hemp regulations?
